Red Poppy
The red poppy was chosen as a symbol of remembrance for soldiers for a number of reasons.
The red poppy reminds us of the blood because of the soldiers who died in the war. The red blooms remind us of when the soldiers fought for us.
The exposed seeds germinated to grow. In Flanders Field soldiers died and it was in this field where the poppies grew. The explosion stirred up the poppy seeds. The red poppy also shows hope and new life.
These are the reasons why the red poppy is special.
